Nissan launches new charging solution in the United States
Nissan USA is making it easier for electric vehicle owners to access public charging by launching the 'Nissan Energy Charge Network.' This initiative enables Ariya SUV drivers and future Nissan EV users to utilize the MyNISSAN app to locate charging stations, check real-time availability, and process payments for charging services.
The network will integrate stations from Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo, providing access to over 90,000 fast charging points throughout the United States. Nissan has indicated intentions to add more charging networks in the future.
Furthermore, Nissan plans to introduce an NACS adapter for the Ariya later this year, enabling users to charge at Tesla Supercharger sites across North America.
Charging solutions are central to Nissan's strategy, with the company's mid-term plan, "The Arc," targeting the launch of 16 new electrified models globally by the end of fiscal year 2026. Additionally, Nissan announced plans for a new bidirectional charger by 2026. While the company recently delayed the production of two electric sedans at its Canton plant in Mississippi, it also unveiled a new model, suggesting a strategy that waits for market conditions to improve.
