Electrify America opens technology park in Virginia
Electrify America has launched a new Technology Campus adjacent to its headquarters in Northern Virginia. This facility spans 32,000 square feet and features 22 Hyper-Fast chargers along with a newly established Technology Development Lab.

As stated by the Volkswagen subsidiary, the campus will focus on advanced validation and stress-testing to guarantee that both the equipment and its components function effectively under various real-world scenarios. The tech campus consists of two laboratories: the existing Center of Excellence, which opened in 2018, and the new Technology Development Lab. The Center of Excellence is dedicated to hardware and interoperability testing, as well as software and firmware development. The new lab enhances the testing capabilities by offering validation, stress testing, maximum power delivery assessments, and environmental testing. Additionally, it includes benchtop testing for product components to facilitate future learning.
"The Electrify America Technology Campus reflects our dedication to current and future EV drivers as we continue to shape and advance the evolving industry," stated Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America. "The extensive testing and analysis conducted at our Center of Excellence and Technology Development Labs improve our capacity to deliver high-quality Hyper-Fast charging solutions that cater to our customers' needs and propel industry advancements."
Electrify America is in a phase of growth, recently announcing a partnership with Nissan's new Energy Charge Network and securing a contract to develop charging infrastructure in California. The company has also revealed plans to collaborate with 4 Gen Logistics for truck charging infrastructure in California. By the close of 2023, Electrify America had successfully expanded its charging network to cover 47 states across the US.
