The highest-rated 350kW connectors can deliver up to 525 miles of range in the same time frame, while 150kW chargers, which are more commonly available, offer around 225 miles in 30 minutes. In comparison, a Type 2 AC connector with 7kW power adds about 25 miles to a 60kWh battery in an hour.
CCS charging is significantly faster, allowing for a quicker battery top-up compared to standard AC charging.
Is CCS Charging Harmful to EVs?
CCS charging itself doesn't harm your vehicle, and it's an effective way to quickly recharge. However, frequent use of rapid charging could potentially affect long-term battery health. It's best to reserve fast charging for when it's needed and use slower chargers for regular overnight charging to maintain battery longevity.
