Flame retardance describes the ability of a substance or material to significantly slow the propagation of flames after it has been treated. It is important to note that this does not imply that the material is entirely fireproof.
The classification of flame retardancy is determined by a specific rating system, with plastics being evaluated and categorized into various grades. These grades progress from HB, V-2, and V-1 to V-0; And this 16A Gbt Charger Plug Flame retardance is UL 94-V0, which the hightest level.
HB: This is the lowest flame retardancy level according to the UL94 standard. For samples with a thickness between 3 and 13 millimeters, the combustion rate must be less than 40 millimeters per minute. For samples thinner than 3 millimeters, the rate should be under 70 millimeters per minute, or the material should self-extinguish before reaching 100 millimeters.
V-2: Materials classified as V-2 will extinguish within 60 seconds after two 10-second flame tests, though some burning pieces may fall off.
V-1: V-1 rated materials also extinguish within 60 seconds after two 10-second flame tests, but no burning debris is allowed to fall off.
V-0: This top rating means that the material will self-extinguish within 30 seconds following two 10-second flame tests, and it must not allow any burning particles to fall off.
