XCharge opens a new testing center in Hamburg

Chinese charging infrastructure firm XCharge is enhancing its research and development capabilities in Germany by inaugurating a new testing facility in Hamburg. This initiative aims to strengthen the company's position in the European market.
The testing laboratory will provide extensive capabilities to evaluate the full range of XCharge Europe's products, as outlined in a recent announcement. A key objective of this facility is to ensure compatibility with the latest electric vehicle models, including electric cars, trucks, and buses. This will help new vehicle owners to charge quickly and without issues at XCharge stations, addressing previous communication challenges that have sometimes arisen between vehicles and charging stations, a situation seen across multiple hardware providers.
The Hamburg center will also serve as a venue for inviting (potential) customers to experience the C6, C7, and Net Zero Series charging stations firsthand. "We want to give our clients a genuine 'hands-on' experience," said Albina Iljasov, Head of Europe at XCharge Europe. "They will have the opportunity to see and interact with our charging stations, observing their ease of use." Additionally, the lab facilitates integration with various backend systems, offers software customization options, and supports future product development through market analysis.
Although XCharge originated in China, its Hamburg-based subsidiary, XCharge Europe GmbH, positions itself as a European entity, aiming to foster the growth of electromobility in Germany while strengthening connections with European clients and partners. Besides Hamburg, XCharge has operated a testing laboratory in Madrid since 2023.
"With our new facility in Hamburg, we are fulfilling our commitment to add more value in Europe," stated Iljasov. "Understanding our European customers and responding to their needs is particularly crucial to us. This initiative will allow us to collaborate more closely with them and develop tailored solutions for the European market."
The XCharge lineup includes the C6 series, with the C6EU variant tailored for Europe, offering charging capacities of up to 200 kW. The 'Net Zero Series' features a battery-supported HPC column that can deliver up to 210 kW even with limited grid connections, utilizing LFP cells from BYD. The newest addition, the C7, announced in 2023, is projected to achieve charging capacities of up to 420 kW.
