Revel, a Brooklyn-based company specializing in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, plans to open a major fast-charging hub in Los Angeles by 2026. This new site, located in Downtown LA, will feature 42 fast-charging stations available to the public 24/7.
Currently, Revel's EV charging operations are concentrated in New York City, where it runs three locations with a total of 54 fast chargers-two in Brooklyn and one in Queens. The company's main charging hub is in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Although it initially aimed to expand to six locations in New York by the end of this year, further growth is still on the horizon.
In addition to LA, Revel intends to establish charging stations in other parts of California, including Oakland, San Francisco, and San José, though specific details about these plans are yet to be disclosed.
Revel has shifted its focus toward its ride-hailing services and the development of fast-charging infrastructure. In 2022, the company secured $175 million in funding to support the construction of its Superhubs across the U.S.
Frank Reig, Revel's co-founder and CEO, highlighted the company's goal of expanding its network to include 1,000 fast chargers in New York City, the Bay Area, and Los Angeles within the next two years. This expansion is aimed at addressing the shortage of urban charging options, benefiting a range of users from rideshare drivers to everyday EV owners.
