MobilityPlus Secures €40 Million for Growth in Belgium and France

MobilityPlus, a charging solutions firm located in Ghent, has successfully secured €40 million in its latest financing round to facilitate its expansion efforts in Belgium and France.
This funding round was spearheaded by Suma Capital through its Climate Impact Fund III, with participation from existing investor Concentra. The specific investment amounts and changes in ownership stakes have not been disclosed, leaving details about Suma Capital's investment and its share in the company unclear.
Suma Capital has expressed enthusiasm regarding the investment. "MobilityPlus boasts a remarkable history of innovative charging solutions, sustainable growth, and a strong customer base. We are thrilled to assist in their further development to decarbonize transport and mobility," stated partners Ruperto Unzué and Jérôme Petitjean.
Established in 2016, MobilityPlus currently oversees more than 15,000 charging stations in Belgium and France and has access to an additional 550,000 charging stations across Europe through roaming agreements. The company's 'eXperience platform' targets B2B clients, particularly businesses that wish to provide charging options for employees and customers. Besides expanding operations in Belgium and France, the new funds will enhance MobilityPlus' Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) model, which allows businesses to implement charging solutions without upfront investments. MobilityPlus handles the initial installation costs and recoups these through ongoing fees.
"In a swiftly changing market, remaining stagnant isn't viable-organic growth alone won't suffice," remarked Kris Pensaert, Co-CEO of MobilityPlus. "Our clients prefer to concentrate on their primary operations and trust MobilityPlus for a seamless and hassle-free charging experience. They seek more than just charging solutions; they need a partner offering extensive support, including engineering, infrastructure, real-time data insights, and smart energy management."
