Enfield Borough in London is set to become the first district in the city to trial the Kerbo Charge through-pavement EV charging system. This initiative enables residents to charge their electric vehicles directly from their home power supply while parked on the street.

The Enfield London Borough Council has introduced this pilot project featuring the Kerbo Charge system, which creates a channel in the pavement outside homes. This setup allows for on-street EV charging using the homeowner's electricity, which is noted to be significantly more cost-effective-five to ten times cheaper-than using public charging stations, especially during off-peak hours.

The project is financed by the local residents, and Enfield is pioneering this technology in London following successful implementations in various UK towns and cities.

Cllr Rick Jewell, the Cabinet Member for Transport and Waste at Enfield Council, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Kerbo Charge for this pioneering trial. He hopes that the project will be successful, potentially motivating more people to buy electric vehicles by providing a cost-effective, secure, and convenient charging solution, thus supporting a greener Enfield.
