LG Electronics Begins Accepting Orders for New 175 kW Fast Charging Station in the USA

LG Electronics has officially opened orders for a newly developed 175 kW fast charging station for U.S. business customers. Produced at LG's Fort Worth, Texas, facility, this high-power charger complements their existing AC charging units. Branded as the 'LG EVC175SK-PN,' this unit supports both CCS and NACS standards and includes liquid-cooled cables, integrated dynamic load management, and a 24-inch touchscreen. It may also feature a "Power Bank" for additional energy support, though details are still forthcoming.
The Fort Worth plant, launched earlier this year, has an annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 units. Initially focused on producing 11 kW chargers, the facility is now ramping up to manufacture the 175 kW charger, with plans for a 350 kW model as well. LG's entry into the EV charging market began in 2023 with AC and DC chargers at 100 and 200 kW, although they now offer models at 175 and 350 kW, meeting market demands for higher capacities. The AC wallbox, compatible with a Type 1 plug, is designed for wall or column mounting, while the DC units are available with either CCS1 or NACS connectors.
Fort Worth serves as LG's first charger production site outside South Korea, chosen for its existing facilities and Texas's advantageous logistics networks, which have attracted other automotive industry players. At the factory's inauguration in January, Jang Ik-hwan, president of LG Business Solutions, stated, "Our Texas facility enables us to respond proactively to the growing demand for EV infrastructure in the U.S. LG is committed to delivering high-quality EV charging solutions, combining robust chargers with advanced control technology."
