Servotech Power Systems, an innovator in EV charging solutions based in India, has successfully deployed Delhi's inaugural grid-connected solar-powered EV charging carport. Situated in the vibrant Hauz Khas Village, this installation marks a significant milestone as the capital's first of its kind.
The carport offers a transformative operating model for business operators, enabling them to transition from conventional last-mile delivery vehicles to zero-emission EV fleets seamlessly. Although specific details regarding the carport's size and solar panel specifications were not disclosed by Servotech, the solar panels integrated into the carport's roof power the electric chargers. Excess electricity generated after EV charging sessions can be stored in a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or fed back into the grid, thereby alleviating the strain on traditional power sources.
Servotech Power Systems assures customers of fast-charging capabilities for electric two- and four-wheelers within an hour at their grid-connected solar-powered EV charging carport. According to images shared by the company, the system utilizes Servotech's 30 kW DC charger, ensuring efficient and rapid charging experiences.
The establishment of Delhi's pioneering grid-connected solar-powered EV charging carport is a collaborative effort involving the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and Germany's Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e.V. (BSW). Additionally, BSES Yamuna Power Limited, a joint venture between the Delhi government and Reliance Infrastructure Limited, played a crucial role in supporting this pilot project.
Servotech Power Systems implemented this innovative charging infrastructure in Delhi under the auspices of the KVP project, facilitated by Sequa GmbH, a German non-profit organization. This initiative underscores India's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility solutions and reducing carbon emissions through advanced technological applications in the EV sector.
