Electra to build HPC stations at Belgian Burger King locations
Electra is set to launch a minimum of 20 fast charging stations, each offering 400 kW, at both current and future Burger King venues in Belgium over the next two years. A similar partnership has also been established for Switzerland.
The collaboration with the fast-food chain commenced on October 23, with the inauguration of the first fast-charging station at the Burger King in Zandhoven. Electra defines a "fast charging station" as a site rather than an individual charging unit. Each station is expected to have at least four charging points, with an average of six.

Utilizing the HYC400 hypercharger from Alpitronic, which provides two CCS charging connections per unit, each location will typically feature two to three hyperchargers. The initial site in Antwerp includes three hyperchargers, allowing for six charging points that will be accessible to the public even outside of store hours.
Earlier this summer, the French charging infrastructure firm secured loans totaling 75 million euros from four banks to expedite its expansion in Belgium. This funding aims to cover 60% of the costs associated with deploying fast chargers, including those at Burger King, while the company will finance the remainder.
Furthermore, Electra plans to introduce 400 kW fast chargers in Switzerland, having entered a strategic partnership with Accor Invest for the local market. This agreement involves equipping the car parks of Accor's hotels with high-performance charging infrastructure, with several charging points up to 400 kW already in the planning stages. The first chargers are anticipated to become operational at the beginning of next year.
This collaboration is consistent with the existing partnership between Accor Invest and Electra in France, which began in 2023. In May 2024, a similar agreement was established for Accor locations in Germany, where each hotel is expected to have four to six charging points with capacities ranging from 200 to 400 kW installed in their outdoor parking areas. Accor Invest includes brands such as Ibis, Mercure, and Novotel.
