Blink Charging Secures Three New Contracts for EV Infrastructure in the UK

Blink Charging has revealed several new partnerships and initiatives in the UK, including a significant collaboration with Power Design, the expansion of EV charging infrastructure in Norfolk County, and a new project with the NHS.

Cardiff Approves Installation Of 100 EV Charging Stations

Blink has been chosen by Power Design, one of the UK's leading multi-trade design-build contractors, to supply electric vehicle (EV) chargers for several locations across the country. As part of this deal, Blink will provide 429 chargers, with a total of 723 plugs, for use by residents in properties developed by Power Design. These chargers will be installed in areas where people live and work as part of the company's ongoing infrastructure expansion.

Commenting on the partnership, Mike Battaglia, President and CEO-Elect of Blink Charging, said, "Contractors like Power Design, who are forward-thinking and innovative, are crucial to enhancing EV charging accessibility. They play a key role in advancing EV technology and making it more accepted and widespread. We are committed to supporting property developers, contractors, and designers as they integrate EV charging into their projects."

In another significant update, Blink Charging UK has entered the next phase of its partnership with Norfolk County Council. Between now and February next year, 12 more locations in Norwich will be equipped with 22 additional EV chargers, bringing the total number of charging points in the area to 46. Blink was initially contracted in early 2023 to install on-street charging stations, and 24 chargers have already been installed, with 19 now in operation. The latest chargers will include both 22kW fast chargers and 50-100kW rapid chargers, expanding the range of options for local EV owners.

Additionally, Blink Charging UK has secured a three-year contract to install, maintain, and manage 41 EV chargers and contactless payment terminals at Princess Royal University Hospital. Starting in May 2025, patients, staff, and visitors will have access to 41 new EV chargers, with the option to pay via 21 new contactless payment terminals. The project will be carried out in phases, beginning with 35 V2G-enabled chargers on the ground floor and 6 on the first floor. Blink expects further expansion of the network across other locations in the King's College NHS Trust estate, in line with the Trust's Green Plan, which aims to reduce its environmental impact through sustainable initiatives, including providing eco-friendly transportation options.

Blink Charging now holds 14 contracts with NHS Trusts, positioning the company as one of the largest providers of EV charging solutions to the UK's National Health Service.

These new agreements reflect Blink Charging's growing presence in the UK, especially as its U.S. government contracts face uncertainty under the incoming Trump administration. Additionally, the company recently announced significant layoffs in the U.S. but has plans to acquire Enel X's customer base.
