Like a person's ID number number, VIN is a unique code from the car manufacturer. Through VIN, the origin, production year, production sequence number, verification code and other information of the vehicle can be seen, and more detailed information about the vehicle characteristics can also be obtained. VIN consists of three parts: Part 1 is the World Manufacturer Identification Number (WMI), Part 2 is the Vehicle Description (VDS), and Part 3 is the Vehicle Indication (VIS). The main uses of VIN code are:
1) Automobile management: used for automobile registration and information management, such as handling traffic accidents, insurance claims, seizing stolen vehicles, reporting cases, etc.
2) Automotive maintenance: used for fault diagnosis, management and ordering of automotive parts
3) Automobile inspection: used for annual inspection and safety performance testing of automobiles.
4) Second hand car transaction: used to query the historical information of the car.
5) Car recall: query the production year, model, and quantity of the car.
6) With the popularization of new energy vehicles, the VIN code of cars is also applied in the EV charging system. Pre entering the VIN code of cars into the charging operation management system can achieve easy and fast charging:
When the car owner is charging, the charging station will automatically obtain the VIN code of the vehicle and compare it with the VIN code entered in the system:
If the comparison is consistent, it is considered that the vehicle is rechargeable and the charging station starts charging the vehicle.
If the comparison is inconsistent, it is considered that the vehicle is not the customer's vehicle and the charging station will not start charging.
The advantage of this method is that it eliminates the need for scanning with an App or starting with a Charging Card, making the charging process more convenient and efficient; At the same time, the precise recognition of VIN code can effectively avoid misoperation and improve the safety of charging.
VIN charging involves three steps:
A. Parking and inserting guns
B. Click on the EV charging station screen to select VIN charging.
C. Stop charging on the EV charging station screen.
