The 12V Power Cupply of GBT DC Charging Stations ?

There are many differences between the Chinese standard and the European and American standards for DC charging stations. One of the biggest differences is that the nine hole gun head of the national standard has two "holes" corresponding to the positive and negative of the 12V auxiliary power supply, with the symbols A+and A -; the gun head of the European standard DC charging station does not have these two signals.

What is the required power for a 12V power supply from a national standard GBT  DC charging station to power a car?
According to the requirements of section 7.7.3 of NB/T 33001-2018, Technical Conditions for Off board Conductive charging station for Electric Vehicles, the auxiliary power supply for the pile to power the vehicle should reach 120W, which is 12V/10A. (Voltage: 12V+/-5%, Current: 10A)
In the new standard GB/T 18487.1-2023, changes have been made to the requirement for 12V. The statement in this bracket is: [Rated voltage: (12+/-1.2V, rated current: not greater than 10A]
However, the new standard will not be implemented until April 1, 2024.


For most new published passenger cars nowadays, there is actually no need for the charging station to provide auxiliary power during the charging process, that is, there is no need for the charging station to supply power to the BMS, only the charging station needs to provide a rising edge signal of 0V to 12V as the "enable" signal to wake up the BMS. During the charging process, the BMS is powered by the vehicle's DC/DC or battery.


The CHAOJI standard has simply cancelled A+and A-, making it clear that there is no need for charging stations to provide power to the vehicle, making the charging gun cable lighter.
