Introduction for EV Charging Mode:
Perhaps you may be confused about various charging modes such as MODE1, MODE2, MODE3, and MODE4. The following is an introduction to these four charging modes, hoping to be helpful to you.
MODE1: This is the most basic charging mode, and there is no adapter or control box on the charging gun. When charging, directly plug the cable of the charging gun into a household AC socket. However, due to poor security, this mode has gradually been phased out.
MODE2: This is currently the main charging mode for portable charging guns on the market. Compared with MODE1, MODE2 adds a protective device, namely a charger control box, between the charging gun and the household AC power grid (usually 220V, 10/16A/22A). This not only preserves the convenience of charging, but also ensures the safety and standardization of charging for new energy vehicles. This type of charger is very popular, and almost every electric car owner has a Mode 2 charger.
MODE3: Unlike MODE1, the charging gun of MODE3 is not connected to the household AC power grid, but to a dedicated AC power supply device, namely an AC charging station. In this mode, not only does it ensure the safety of charging, but it also improves the charging speed to a certain extent (the European standard is generally 220V, 10/13/32/63A).
