CCS2 to CHAdeMO adapter is a device that allows electric vehicles (EVs) equipped with a CHAdeMO charging port to connect to charging stations that use the CCS2 (Combined Charging System Type 2) standard. What is chademo?
CHAdeMO is derived from the charging system design of Tepco. Tepco cooperated with many electric vehicle manufacturers (such as Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, etc.) between 2006 and 2009 to test many electric vehicle infrastructure projects. The results of these tests allowed Tepco to develop many patented technologies, including high voltage (up to 500 V DC) and high current (125 A) specifications for electric vehicle fast charging systems, using the DC fast charging connector of the Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI), which is the basis of CHAdeMO technology [. The CHAdeMO connector was specified by the Japan Automobile Research Institute in the Japanese Electric Vehicle Standard (JEVS) G105-1993 in 1993.

CHAdeMO released the V2X protocol for vehicles to charge other devices in 2014. As of August 2019, CHAdeMO is the only standardized protocol that defines V2X, and there are already mass-produced cars and charging equipment (energy conversion systems or power conditioners) with this function. V2G (vehicle-to-grid charging) technology allows electric vehicle owners to use electric vehicles as a tool for energy storage, optimize electricity usage, and use grid electricity during off-peak hours when electricity costs are lower to save electricity costs. It can also provide services to the transmission network. Since 2012, there have been several V2X demonstration projects around the world that use the V2X function in the CHAdeMO protocol.
