What is Emergency EV Charger ?
A mobile Mode 2 charging cable, also known as an Emergency EV Charger, can be used to charge up an electric or hybrid vehicle using home electrical outlet (Schuko) or CEE receptacle whenever there is no permanently installed charging station available.
The 16A 3.5KW GBT Emergency EV Charger control unit assumes all safety-related functions such as for example:
Temperature management and the automatic charge current reduction in case of overheating of the charger and over temperature automatic shutdown protection function; The shutdown protection function of the charger in case of overcurrent or overvoltage; Or anti leakage protection function, etc
That is to say, if a fault is detected, the charger will automatically shut down the output to prevent damage to the charger - when the fault no longer exists, it will automatically reopen (some protection functions require re plugging and unplugging the charger to restore)
