FAQ: Type2 and GBT is same?
First let us know what is GBT: The Guobiao standard GB/T 20234.2-2015 for AC-charging within the China specifies cables with Type 2-style male connectors on both ends (mode 3 charging cable), and a female inlet on vehicles -the opposite gender to the rest of the world, and with different control signalling.
A: Although GBT and Type2 looks similar, they are two different charging standards.
Type2 mainly use in Europe and GBT mainly found in China.
The dimension of GBT and Type2 connectors (outlet and inlet) are difference.
And for Type2, the vehicle side inlet socket of type2 is male socket with pins, the charging plug fixed on charging stations are female outlet plug with hole. But GBT is the opposite of type2.
